I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), psychotherapist, educator, geriatric care manager, and healthcare administrator with more than 25 years of experience serving individuals, families, older adults, and underserved communities throughout New York City. My career has been dedicated to empowering people, strengthening families, and creating pathways toward health, stability, and self-sufficiency.
As the Founder and Clinical Executive Officer of Compadre Therapy LCSW PLLC, I provide psychotherapy services utilizing evidence-based approaches including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness interventions, grief counseling, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care. I work with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
In addition to private practice, I serve as Administrator and Geriatric Care Manager for Aging Well Life Care, where I help older adults and their families navigate complex healthcare, long-term care, and quality-of-life decisions. My professional experience spans hospitals, emergency departments, nursing homes, behavioral health clinics, HIV/AIDS services, correctional reentry programs, community organizations, and higher education.
Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions with organizations including Montefiore Medical Center, New York Westchester Square Medical Center, Bainbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Housing Works, Episcopal Social Services, and Brightpoint Health (now Sun River Health). These experiences have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems, behavioral health, aging services, social justice, and community-based interventions.
I am also passionate about education and workforce development. As a former Adjunct Professor within the City University of New York (CUNY) system, I taught Human Services and Social Work courses while mentoring future social workers and advocating for first-generation college students and multilingual learners.
My academic achievements include both a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a Master of Social Work from Lehman College, City University of New York, graduating Summa Cum Laude in both programs. I am certified in Advanced Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy through the Albert Ellis Institute and hold certifications in Geriatric Care Management and LGBTQ Family Therapy.
Beyond clinical practice, I am the founder of Compadre Works, a developing nonprofit initiative dedicated to expanding access to behavioral health, supportive services, legal advocacy, workforce development, youth mentorship, aging services, and community-based programs designed to address the social determinants of health. My vision is to create integrated systems of care that help individuals not only survive but thrive.
